Paid Time Off
Everyone needs a vacation! At FedEx Ground, employees are eligible to earn up to three weeks’ vacation at time of hire and can earn five weeks’ vacation after reaching 20 years of service. Can’t use it all? Employees can carry over up to five days of their earned and unused vacation into the first quarter of the new fiscal year.
Paid Holidays
Whether you are celebrating a holiday or need time off, whether planned or unplanned, employees receive up to six paid holidays and three personal days per year. The six paid holidays include:
Labor Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day
Retirement Plans
When joining FedEx Ground, once you have one month of service and are at least 21 years old, you can enroll in the company’s 401(k) plan. With a generous employer match of up to 8% when you contribute, saving for retirement has never been easier!

Starting on day one, Employee Assistance Program (EAP) benefits are available to help you and your family find a solution and restore your peace of mind, even if you’re not enrolled in FedEx benefits. Just when you think you have it figured out, along comes a challenge. But whether those challenges are big or small, the EAP is there. Coverage includes up to eight face to face visits per issue with a counselor at no cost to you and is extended to your household members.

When you join FedEx Ground, depending on your position, you will be paid weekly or semi-monthly. Need a place for your money? Medical Dental & Vision
Employees can select medical, dental and vision benefits for themselves and eligible dependents upon employment. Medical: Consumer Premier and Consumer Choice plans administered by Anthem Blue Cross or Cigna. Dental: PPO and Dental Assistance plans administered by Cigna. Vision: Benefits administered by Davis Vision. Prescription Drug: Benefits administered by OptumRx. Employee Assistance Program (E.A.P.) / People Help: Program administered by Cigna Behavioral Health. Provides services for short-term counseling, and Mental Health/Substance Abuse benefits. Health Care Flexible Spending Account / Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account: Administered by WageWorks. Allows employees to set aside money from his/her paycheck on a pre-tax basis to pay for eligible health care expenses incurred by the employee and/or his/her eligible family members, and/or dependent day care expenses, respectively.
Tuition Reimbursement
Non-package handler aemployees are eligible for the program upon employment.
Up to $5,000.00 per calendar year (for eligible expenses)
Paid Time Off
All full-time and part-time non-package handler employees are eligible to accrue vacation.
Vacation time is credited on the 15th of each month. New hired or newly eligible employees must have an effective date on or before the 15th in order to receive credit for the month in which they were hired.
*Seasonal employees, interns/co-ops, and temporary employees are not eligible to earn vacation.
Paid Holidays
Non-package handler employees are eligible to receive holiday pay* upon employment, and will enjoy up to 6 paid holidays a year
Labor Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day
*Part-time Non-Package Handler Employees:
Holiday pay is based on the scheduled standard hours to work per week
Example: 25 hours per week / 5-day week = 5 hours of holiday pay
Retirement Plans
FedEx Ground offers both a Pension and a 401(k) Plan
Pension Plan: enrolled automatically in the Plan's Portable Pension Account upon attaining age 21 and completing one year of service in which you are credited with at least 1,000 hours
Retirement Savings Plan (RSP) - 401k: employees become eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan after one month of service and reaching age 21
Company Match:
100 percent on the first 1 percent of eligible earnings you contribute
50 percent on the next 5 percent of eligible earnings you contribute
